Sales Account Executive - Performing Arts

We are looking for a sales executive to join our team to help us revolutionize the ticketing industry. Patron Technology provides a cloud-based box office ticketing, marketing, & fundraising, all together for ease of use. The ideal candidate will have a rare combination of passions and interests in the performing arts, museums, sports or other live entertainment, plus technology and sales and a fire-in-their belly attitude. Someone who gets excited about bringing new clients on board and appreciates a hands-on, consultative sales approach.

As a Sales Executive your potential clients will be performing arts executives, venue managers, fundraising specialists, and box office professionals, and understanding their needs and perspectives is important.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding potential clients through demonstrations of our solution to help them understand the features and the benefits of the system.
  • Following up to answer questions, negotiate and close sales.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to fine-tune the overall sales process.

Requirements and Considerations:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales with relevant industry familiarity.
  • You should have an interest in, love for, and/or experience working with performing arts organizations, museums, or sports teams.
  • You must be excited about the idea of bringing new technology to market — actual experience selling software or other technology systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience actually using any ticketing, membership management, or fundraising technology system will be helpful.
  • You must be able to write in a compelling manner and be equally persuasive on the phone or in person.

If you have sales experience, and embrace a hands-on, consultative sales approach, please send us your resume and cover letter to jobs[at]patrontechnology.com using the subject line "Sales AE." Tell us about your enthusiasm for the arts in your city, and how you have the innate drive to connect with people and managers in the arts. Because crisp and persuasive writing is a critical skill, your cover letter should demonstrate that and is a very important part of your application.

Our environment is energetic, enthusiastic as a fast growing company in midtown Manhattan. As a sales executive, you’ll have significant earning potential with a base salary plus commission. We offer a Fortune-500 quality health insurance plan paid 100% and 401K.

Full Time Bookkeeper & Business Affairs Assistant

Patron Technology, a company dedicated to providing web-based technology to performing arts organizations, seeks a full-time bookkeeper/business affairs assistant and to round out a smart, dedicated, (and fun!) four-person team.

You will be responsible for entering large amounts of financial data into our accounting system. You will back up our senior bookkeeper and handle reconciliations, expense reports, help file taxes (ST-100/101, 1099s), A/P, A/R, billing, payroll, administrative tasks, and other projects as they come up.

These accounting tasks will comprise approximately 75% of this position. The rest will be comprised of lending administrative support to other business affairs and human resources activities.

You love detail, and you’re something of a perfectionist (and this doesn’t stress you out!). You want to learn more about the inner workings of a quickly growing business. You don’t get overwhelmed when working to meet deadlines and have the ability to prioritize. You take pride in the quality and quantity of work you do each day, knowing that it contributes to the success of the whole system that’s built on it.

This is an in-house position (not remote), and the ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years of bookkeeping and administrative experience. If you have many years of experience, you’re welcome to apply, but we will likely not be able to meet your salary requirements.

Skill Requirements:

  • knowledge of Quickbooks and/or other bookkeeping systems
  • proficient with Excel
  • extremely comfortable working with web-based technology
  • fast and accurate typing
  • knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus

Compensation includes salary, health insurance paid 100% by company, and 401K, and there is ample opportunity for increased responsibility as time goes on.

How to Apply

Send a short, creative cover letter and resume to Deb Yuarie at jobs[at]patrontechnology.com and answer the following questions:

  • Why do you want to work at Patron Technology vs. some other company?
  • Are you interested in the arts or technology?
  • If you reconcile your personal bank account and it’s off by $2, what do you do? Tell us about your process -- how do you do you attack the issue and how do you resolve it.
  • What is your favorite TV show, film, play, or live performance?

We look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully meeting you very soon.
